DeleteStudents of the Barton Community College Dance Theatre class will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
Barton Dance Instructor Amanda Schnoebelen said her class is loosely structured to allow those who take the course to be a part of the artistic, expressive process.
“The course is not restrictive at all, and I try to teach a variety of styles,” she said. “I do teach a lot of technical, official dance moves, but the students choreograph a lot of it as well, and that gives them the opportunity to be creative with their own style and dance genre of choice.”
Barton Dance Theatre is made up of a variety of students.
“We have people who are experienced dancers, but there are a lot of people that take this course that are non-dancers,” she said. “A lot of people take the class to get involved with something new that is out of their comfort zone.”
Admission to the concert is free.
