Barton to host KSHSAA Regional Music Festival

The Barton Community College Music Department will host the Kansas State High School Activities Association Regional Small Ensembles and Solos Music Festival from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14.
The public is invited to observe the contest. Students will perform instrumental and vocal solos. Small ensembles will also compete. The schedule of events will be available in the college library on the day of the festival.
High schools from the following communities will participate: Beloit, Buhler, Goodland, Great Bend, Hays (Thomas More Prep-Marian and Hays High School), Hesston, Lindsborg, McPherson and Salina (Central and South).
More than 600 entries will be rated. Soloists and ensembles receiving “I” ratings will move on to competition at the state level.
