The Barton Community College Music Department will host the Kansas High School Activities Association Regional Small Ensembles and Solos Music Festival from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

The public is invited to observe the contests in which these outstanding students perform in instrumental, vocal and strings small ensembles and solos. The schedule of events will be available in the college library on the day of the festival.

High schools from the following communities will participate: Beloit, Buhler, Goodland, Great Bend, Hays (Thomas More Prep-Marian and Hays High), Hesston, Lindsborg, McPherson, Russell, Salina (Central and South).

More than 600 entries will be rated. Soloists and ensembles receiving "I" ratings will move up for competition on the state level.
