The Battle of Glorieta Pass will be the subject of a Civil War program at the next Barton County Historical Society meeting. The historical society will have its monthly program at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 23.
Joe Boley will present the program, “Gettysburg of the West: The Battle of Glorieta Pass.” The Civil War battle fought in northern New Mexico when the Confederate Army attempted to take control of the Western territories will be discussed.
The meeting is open to the public and everyone is invited. The historical society museum is located just over the Arkansas River Bridge on U.S. 281.
