Barton Community College’s Criminal Justice Team took home some hardware in two divisions of the Region III American Criminal Justice Association’s national competition, Oct. 21 and 22 at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo.

The team took second place in the crime scene investigation competition, which consisted of students Brenton Boese of Liebenthal, Chason Lueth of Susank and Jonathan Rahe of Hanover.

"The competition went great," Lueth said. "We have a good team chemistry."

Other members of the team took third place in the firearms competition, which consisted of Criminal Justice Instructor Randy Smith and Barton County Sheriff’s Deputies Denny McCormick and Ryan Burton.

The BCC group is the Sigma Phi Omega chapter of Lambda Alpha Epsilon. They received their trophies at the awards banquet on Oct. 23 at the Clarion Hotel Ballroom in Springfield.
