BCC music students to present recital tonight

Barton Community College will present a student recital at 7:30 tonight in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in Barton’s Fine Arts Building, F-157. Admission is free.

Performers will be students of Karole Erikson, keyboard instructor; Glenna Gaunt, voice instructor; and Steve Lueth, instrumental instructor.

Student Kristin Roat, Hoisington, and instructor Karole Erikson will perform a duet by Leontovich, based on the "Ukranian Bell Carol."

Dr. Haven C. Krueger, Great Bend, has arranged a piano accompaniment for the John Jacob Niles Christmas song, "What Songs Were Sung," and will debut it with voice student John Radenberg, Claflin, Barton music major.

Barton Trustee Robert Feldt and Barton music major Brooke Smith, both of Great Bend, will perform the first two movements of Bach’s "Double Violin Concerto."

Other students performing will be Great Bend students Angela Barney, alto saxophone; Cody Lawson, tenor saxophone; Greg Pohl, double bass; Abby Hammeke, piano; Joann Stacey, voice; and Tyler Barrett, voice. Area students include Karen Kratzer, Geneseo, voice; Rose Radenberg, Claflin, voice; Jennifer Pfortmiller, Stafford, organ; and Brandon Cross, Chicago, Ill., trombone.
