Barton Community College will host a presentation at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in the Cohen Center in the Learning Resource Center titled “Buffalo Hunt,” about buffalo hunting in Kansas in the 1800s and how it affected the state.
Barton librarian and Kansas history enthusiast Ron Kelly will be the presenter. Kelly has presented on various Kansas history topics in the past and has worked with the Ellinwood Historical Society. He is also currently working on a project in conjunction with the Cohen Kansas History Center to develop a Kansas history trivia book.
The presentation is sponsored by the Cohen Kansas History Center, which is dedicated to preserving resources in Kansas and inspiring research in Kansas history. The center is in the southeast alcove of the Learning Resource Center on the main campus and is the result of the generosity of Barton P. and Dr. Mary Davidson Cohen of Leawood. Admission is free.
