Helping others cope with grief and loss is something many health-care professionals encounter frequently. Barton Community College is offering a Continuing Education Workshop to better prepare professionals for these difficult moments from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Fine Arts Seminar Room, F-30 on the Barton campus.
Participants will receive ideas for dealing with personal grief issues as well as strategies to provide therapeutic responses to those experiencing grief.
Barton is an approved provider of continued nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing, and the workshop will count for 0.5 credit-hours and 8 contact hours.
The presenter will be Jenni Reling, an expert at providing training, seminars and conferences on multiple topics for hospitals and adult care homes.
Cost for the workshop is $80 and includes refreshments, lunch, materials, college credit and continuing education.
