Local history enthusiast Joe Boley will present "Planeview, the Miracle City," at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.

During this free program, Boley will talk about Planeview, a government housing project for aircraft workers in Wichita during World War II. Nicknamed the "Miracle City," Planeview was a 500-acre settlement built by the government in 1943 that housed 20,000 people.

The program is sponsored by the Great Bend Recreation Commission.
