A budget hearing, study session and executive session will all take place Thursday afternoon at Barton Community College.

The college’s Board of Trustees will hold its public budget hearing at 4 p.m. Thursday in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. The proposed budget was approved for publication at the July 21 board meeting and appeared in the July 24 issue of the Great Bend Tribune.

The budget hearing is scheduled to coincide with the board’s monthly study session, where items are discussed but no action is taken. The budget hearing is officially a special meeting; after hearing any comments from the public, the board may vote to approve the budget as published or take other action in that regard.

The regular study session will include information on the track/soccer complex dedication, the financial statement, information from Shafer Gallery Director David Barnes, an update on strategic planning, and board interaction with the Barton Community College Foundation.

Another special meeting is set for 5 p.m. Thursday. The purpose of that meeting is to go into executive session for discussion of personnel.
