Sometime between 1 p.m. on May 1 and 2 p.m. on May 3, a burglary occurred at a drilling rig owned by Petromark Drilling.

Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings, speaking for Crime Stoppers of Barton County and Great Bend, said the rig was located near SE 40 Ave. and 150 Road. Copper wiring from a generator to the rig, space heaters and a dog house trailer were damaged. Loss and damage will exceed $4,000.
