The educational program "Vitamin D — Sunshine to Supplements" will be presented at 1 p.m. Friday at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.

This free program by the Recreation Commission will be presented by Donna Krug, Family and Consumer Science agent at the Barton County Extension.

The program will take a look at the growing body of research examining the many facets of human health affected by Vitamin D status. Vitamin D is no longer just "important for bone health," Krug said; it also plays a vital role in a wide variety of functions throughout the life cycle.
