Auditions for the second show in Great Bend Community Theatre’s 2011-2012 season, "It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" by Joe Landry, will be held Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Crest Theater, 1905 Lakin Ave.

Performance dates are Dec. 1-4. There are roles for three to four men and two to three women; ages can vary. Director Sally O’Connor said they will need vocal actors who can play multiple roles by varying their voices. One person is also needed to do sound effects on stage.

The beloved American holiday classic "It’s a Wonderful Life" will be presented as a live 1940s radio broadcast. The story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. This play, with its original twist, its clever use of props, entertaining voices and compelling love story, is a perfect way for the whole family to kick off the Christmas season, O’Connor said.

No advance preparation is necessary for the audition session. For more information or to check out a reading copy of the script contact O’Connor at gbct.crest@gmail.com or at the Crest Theater, 792-4228.
