GBHS Band Soloists, Small Ensembles present Contest Selections

Great Bend High School instrumental students will present their solo and small ensemble contest selections at 7 p.m. on Monday, in the GBHS Band Room (#190).
Soloists include: Courtney Seevers, Athena VanderMeer, Taylor Fry, Ian Sheppard, flute; Kaitlynn Tuey, clarinet; Colton Lagerman, Nick Moyers, Stu Hogg, alto saxophone; Gatlin Reed, Taylor Lampe, Estella Schumacher, trumpet; Stephanie Langer, Luke Abbott, baritone; and Hannah Mosier, xylophone.
Ensembles playing, their members and title of piece are: Freshman Clarinet Trio: Emily DeLaurentis, Kaitlynn Tuey, Brooke Henning, “Sailor’s Dance”; Freshman Flute Trio: Courtney Seever, Megan Durland, Kelci Kearns, “Carnival”; Alto Sax Trio: Colton Lagerman, Shania Feck, Nathan Brungardt, “Prince of Denmark”; Varsity Clarinet Sextet: Brandt Steward, Megan Wesley, Danielle Herl, Emilie Murray, Morgan Choitz, Alexis Woods, “Sarabande & Waltz; Mixed Woodwind Trio: Peter Marston, Brandt Steward, Rachael Gros, “Passepied”; Saxophone Quintet: Stu Hogg, Nick Moyers, Spencer Keil, Jake Kohman, Colton Lagerman, “Der Freischutz”; Brass Ensemble: Miles Orth, Kameron Boese, Taylor Lampe, Mason Roach, Matthew Bruner, Preston Miller, Elena Lewis, Anthony Muiruri, Luke Abbott, Genesis Rose, Stephanie Langer, Kiralynn Bunn, Logan Boyd, “Trumpet Voluntary”.
Mr. Mark DeWald is the band instructor, and he is assisted by Mr. Shelby Huddleston and Mr. Kurtis Koch. Mrs. Darylee Flynn is accompanist for the soloists.
The public is invited to hear these fine young musicians as they prepare for the Regional Music Festival on April 9 at Barton County College. There is no admission fee for Monday’s performance or at the Regional Festival.
