Rec Board to meet Monday

 

The Great Bend Recreation Commission Board of Directors will meet at 4 p.m. Monday at the Carl Soden Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St. Items on the agenda include information about winter activities, holiday hours and the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association’s state conference in February.

 

GBRC forming fall exercise classes

 

The Great Bend Recreation Commission is forming its late fall sessions of exercise classes. All classes start Monday and continue through Dec. 17, and will be held at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St.

Talaya Schwartz offers Noon Body Shaping over the lunch hour. Sponsors describe this as a fun strength and flexibility exercise program to tone and firm. Class meets from 12:10-12:50 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Laurie McCurry offers her H.E.A.T. exercise classes from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. This class is a high energy aerobic training class.

McCurry offers Yoga classes from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Quiet the mind and body while increasing flexibility, improving balance and strength during this Yoga class.

ZUMBA class is taught by McCurry from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Pre-registration is required for all exercise classes. These classes are for participants 18 and older. Enroll at the Recreation Commission office located at 1214 Stone Street. For more information call the Recreation Commission office, 793-3755 ext. 2.
