The Barton County Historical Society will host the “Ghosts of Christmas Past” open house from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the historical village and museum, located just south of the Arkansas River bridge on U.S. 281 in Great Bend. Admission is free.
Decorations and trees by local groups will be featured in the museum. There will be entertainment and refreshments, and children’s activities provided by Great Bend Public Library. Golden Belt Woodcarvers will be doing demonstrations.
Weather permitting, the little train will be running for children to ride on. The museum will also have a model train running in an indoor Christmas scene.
Santa Claus will be on hand.
Museum Director Beverly Komarek said the historical village is the southern end to Great Bend’s Trail of Lights, and its Christmas lights can be seen nightly during the holiday season.
