Auditions for "Don’t Talk to the Actors," the first show in Great Bend Community Theatre’s 2011-2012 season, will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Crest Theater. The play is a comedy Tom Dudzick and will be performed Oct. 6-9.

K.B. Bell with GBCT said there are roles for one male 20-30 years old, two males 50-60, one female 20-30, one female 30-40 and one female 50-60. Ages are somewhat flexible.

In this play about the New York theater scene, fledgling playwright Jerry Przpezniak and his fiancée are a couple of Buffalo greenhorns suddenly swept when Jerry’s play is optioned for the big money, ego-driven world of Broadway. It’s a young playwright’s dream, but the crazy characters and dilemmas they encounter are the things theatrical nightmares are made of.

No advance preparation is necessary for the audition session. To check out a reading copy of the script, or for any questions, contact the director, Ken Harton, at khrtn@yahoo.com or at home at 792-4186. Great Bend Community Theatre may also be contacted via e-mail at gbct.crest@gmail.com.
