A Great Bend man was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital following a one-vehicle accident at noon Thursday on SE 100 Ave. and SE 70 Road in Barton County, approximately 7 miles south of Ellinwood.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jerald J. Peplinski, 66, was southbound in a 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood and failed to negotiate a curve. The car hit a stop sign and a curb sign, entered the ditch and flipped end-to-end, coming to rest on its roof. Peplinski was wearing a seat belt.
