Crime Stoppers is seeking information about recent thefts in Great Bend and Barton County.
Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings reports that at 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 15, a resident at 2703 Broadway Ave. was awakened by noises outside his home. He saw a pickup leaving his yard with a trailer and two Yamaha Waverunner jet skies, one black and white, and one black and gold. Loss was $20,000.
Crime Stoppers also seeks information about a crime that occurred between the evening hours of Aug. 11 and the morning of Aug. 12. “Unknown persons entered the property located at  242 North 281 Highway and removed a chiminea, a gas grill and a cast iron and wooden bench. The loss in this theft is $1,045,” Akings said. “If you have  information about this crime, please call 792-1300 or 888-305-1300. Remember we don’t want your name, just your information.”
