The Great Bend Recreation Commission has openings for the Kids Safety Day Out program on Friday, June 29, Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said. Activities will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St. This program is for children 6-12 years old.
Morning activities will focus on safety. Students will be bused to Midwest Energy Inc. for some safety demonstrations on high voltage electricity, propane and natural gas, performed by Midwest Energy Staff. After the demonstrations are over, students will be bused back to the Activity Center.
The afternoon will be full of crafts, games and fun, Fitzpatrick said. Each participant will be required to bring a sack lunch and beverage along for lunch.  The Recreation Commission will provide snacks and beverages during the morning and afternoon.
The entry fee is $15 and is due by Wednesday.  Register at the Recreation Commission office, 1214 Stone St., call 793-3755 ext. 2 or send e-mail to recreation@gbrc.kscoxmail.com.
