Library showing free movies

Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., will be showing free movies served with free popcorn this month, starting with an after-school movie at 3:30 p.m. this Friday. Open to all ages, the after-school movie is an animated blockbuster featuring race car Lightning McQueen and friends competing in the first-ever World Grand Prix.

The library will also show the movie Moneyball at 7 p.m. Friday, for people 18 years of age and older.

Library spokesman Jennifer King said the library will also continue weekly programming from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Mondays for students in grades 7-12. February’s Teen Movie Monday theme is Just Dance. The movies and their show dates are: Step Up, Feb. 6; Step Up 2, Feb. 13; and Step Up 3, Feb. 20.

Feb. 27 will be Teen Game Day, featuring Just Dance, as well as assorted board games and card games.
