The Great Bend Public Library, 1409 Williams St., will be showing free movies next week.

The monthly afternoon children’s movie will be shown at 3 p.m. Friday, June 3. In this movie, The Little Engine (voice of Alyson Stoner) must face her fears and leave Dreamland in order to deliver toys to the children of the world. The feature-length adventure includes the vocal talents of Whoopi Goldberg, Jamie Lee Curtis, Corbin Bleu and Brenda Song.

June 3 is also Family Night. At 7 p.m. the library will show a movie set in the neighboring gardens of Montague and Capulet. The neighbors are at war, but the gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, are in love.

The Adults Night Out movie starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 4. Guinevere Pettigrew, a middle-aged London governess, finds herself unfairly dismissed from her job. An attempt to gain new employment catapults her into the glamorous world and dizzying social whirl of an American actress and singer, Delysia Lafosse.

Free popcorn and ice water are served at the movies. For evening shows, the north doors to the library open at 6:45 p.m.
