Live a Little fitness talk scheduled for Friday

The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a free Stop ‘N Learn Session, “Let’s Live A Little: Physical Activity For Fun And Fitness,” at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.
Many people grow up believing the myth that it is normal for people as they age to become weak, to slow down and to stop doing most of the things they once enjoyed doing. The good news is that it is not difficult for most people to maintain or recover their functional ability and live an active, independent lifestyle, said Donna Krug, Barton County family and consumer science agent. Quality of life can be significantly improved with a few minutes of physical activity each day. Krug will explain where to begin and how to plan a physical activity program.
This program was also scheduled for March 11 at the Great Bend Activity Center, but has been canceled. For more information, call the Recreation Commission office, 793-3755 ext. 2, or email recreation@gbrc.kscoxmail.com.
