The Great Bend Recreation Commission is forming its New Year sessions of exercise classes for people 18 years of age and older, program coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said. Classes start Monday, and will continue through Feb. 4. All classes will be held at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St.

Talaya Schwartz will lead Noon Body Shaping over the lunch hour. "This is a fun, strength and flexibility exercise program to tone and firm," Fitzpatrick said. The class will meet from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Laurie McCurry teaches H.E.A.T. exercise classes from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is a high energy aerobic training class. McCurry also teaches yoga classes from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. "Quiet the mind and body while increasing flexibility, improving balance and strength during this yoga class," Fitzpatrick said. "And don’t forget about the ZUMBA class that Laurie McCurry is offering on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m."

Pre-registration is required for all exercise classes. Enroll at the Recreation Commission office located at 1214 Stone St. For more information call the Recreation Commission office, 793-3755 ext. 2.
