New GBRC exercise classes start Monday

The Great Bend Recreation Commission is forming the spring sessions of exercise classes. All classes start Monday, April 11, and continue until Memorial Day. Classes are held at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St.

Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick provided the following course descriptions:

Talaya Schwartz leads Noon Body Shaping over the lunch hour. This is a fun, strength and flexibility exercise program to tone and firm. This class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:10–12:50 p.m.

Laurie McCurry offers her H.E.A.T. exercise classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. This class is a high energy aerobic training class.

McCurry offers Yoga classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Quiet the mind and body while increasing flexibility, improving balance and strength.

The ZUMBA class, also taught by McCurry, is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Pre-registration is required for all exercise classes. These classes are for participants 18 and older. Enroll at the Recreation Commission office located at 1214 Stone St. For more information call 793-3755 ext. 2.
