Editors of Barton Community College’s annual literary magazine, Prairie Ink, have begun accepting entries for its third edition.

Editors Jaime Oss and Teresa Johnson are calling for original contributions of fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, drama, literary criticism and graphic novels to be considered for publication in the May-June 2012 issue. They will accept submissions until Feb. 1, 2012.

Johnson said the magazine offers a unique service to area residents. "There really aren’t very many opportunities in this area for people to showcase their creative writing skills," she said. "It’s a vehicle for BCC students, community members and alumni to be able to express their creativity in writing."

BCC students, alumni and all residents of the seven counties in BCC’s educational region: Barton, Pawnee, Rush, Russell, Rice, Stafford and Ellsworth counties, as well as BCC’s Fort Riley Campus and Grandview Plaza are encouraged to submit entries.

Submission guidelines and other information about Prairie Ink can be found at www.prairieink.bartonccc.edu or by calling (620) 792-9277.
