The Great Bend Recreation Commission has a few openings left for its Exploration of the Science of Life class, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon July 23-26 at the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone St.
Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said children 8-12 years old can explore what make things tick in life in this fun interactive class. Topic will include food chains, ecosystems, plants and animals, and the human body. Activities will include a trip on Wednesday to the Kansas Wetlands Education Center for a program from Pam Martin, KWEC/KDWPT educator.
Cost is $20; partial scholarships available. Pre-registration is required by 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 18th. Andrea Maxwell will be the instructor for this class.
