The New Year sessions of exercise classes offered by the Great Bend Recreation Commission got under way Wednesday, but it’s not too late to enroll, GBRC Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said.

The following classes for participants 18 years and older will be offered through Jan. 27:

Talaya Schwartz teaches Noon Body Shaping over the lunch hour. This is a fun, strength and flexibility exercise program to tone and firm. This class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:10-12:50 p.m.

Laurie McCurry leads the H.E.A.T. exercise classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. This class is a high energy aerobic training class.

McCurry also teaches Yoga on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Yoga teaches participants to quiet the mind and body while increasing flexibility and improving balance and strength.

Finally, McCurry leads a ZUMBA class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

All classes will be held at the Great Bend Activity Center, located at 2715 18th St. Pre-registration is required. Enroll at the Recreation Commission office, 1214 Stone St. For more information, call 793-3755 ext. 2.
