A Russell woman was flown to Wichita via air ambulance Monday after a vehicle she was a passenger in was involved in an accident on Interstate 70 in Saline County.
Ella M. Bushell, 83, was first taken to Salina Regional Health Center.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Bushell was a passenger in a GMC Yukon driven by Wanda B. Dimitt, 60, of Russell. The Yukon was southbound at 2:48 p.m. and was just south of the Crawford exit in Salina when Dimitt attempted a left-hand turn into the median from the right-hand land and turned in front of a semi-tractor in the passing lane.
The semi driver was not injured. All three people were wearing safety restraints.
A spokesman for Wesley Medical Center in Wichita said Bushell remained in critical condition on Tuesday evening.
