Teens wanted for Spring Break Zoo Crew

Great Bend’s Brit Spaugh Zoo offers teens a chance to learn about animal care and experience zoo careers as part of this year’s Spring Break Zoo Crew. This program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, March 21-22. According to Danielle Ricklefs at the zoo, teens will work alongside zoo staff and will assist with the educational program and development.
“This is an excellent opportunity for the youth to directly connect with both the zoo staff and the animals,” Ricklefs said. “We want them to experience what careers are like in a zoo setting and really get a chance to see what the zoo offers the Great Bend community.”
The fee to be part of the zoo crew is $25 for one day, which includes supplies and a boxed lunch.
The deadline to sign up is Saturday, March 16, but Ricklefs said both groups are almost full. Contact her by calling the Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo Education Department, 620-793-4226, or send e-mail to education@greatbendzoo.com for more information.
