The Dominican Sisters of Peace will show the 2009 movie, “The Ben Carson Story,” at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the auditorium of the Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave., Great Bend. Note this is a change from the date previously announced. Refreshments and discussion will follow the movie. A freewill donation is requested.
In this biographical drama, the film reveals Carson’s inspiring life story as a poor, inner-city youth who overcame great odds to become one of the world’s best neurosurgeons, thanks to the love of his single mother and an unswerving Christian faith. The move is 90 minutes long. It is the final program for 2012 in the sisters’ “Movies with a Message” series.
