Tickets for the Barton Community College theater department’s next production, The “Last Five Years,” will go on sale Monday in the Fine Arts Office. The office is open weekday afternoons 1:30-5:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased at the Barton County Arts Council, 1401 Main St., Great Bend from 1:30-5 p.m. on weekdays.
The musical will have two performances, at 7:30 p.m. April 26 and 27.
“The Last Five Years” is a contemporary song-cycle musical that chronicles the five-year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it. Written by Jason Robert Brown, it is an intensely personal look at the relationship between a writer and an actress told from both characters’ point of view.
Tickets are available in advance as well as the night of the show, but tickets are limited. Seating will be arranged “black box style” on the stage of the Fine Arts Auditorium. All high school and college students will be admitted for free with an ID. Non-student tickets are $5. No one will be admitted after the show begins.
This production is for mature audiences.
