Two accidental shootings reported in recent days

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an accidental shooting on the outskirts of Great Bend at 12:54 a.m. Tuesday.

Adam Koch, 27, from Pratt, was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital by private vehicle after Cole Frimmel, 24, from Great Bend, accidentally discharged a Remington Wingmaster 12-gauge shotgun.

Deputy Bennet Shumate reported Koch was treated for pellet wounds to his wrist and nose, and released.

The accident occurred at 305 Second St. in Great Bend, which is considered a rural address.

It was the second accidental shooting report in Barton County in recent days. At 6:18 p.m. Saturday, Great Bend Regional Hospital reported a man was in the emergency room with pellet wounds in his face. Hunter Brian Kitch was injured with bird shot.
