Two people were taken to Via Chriti Medical Center’s St. Francis Hospital in Wichita on Friday after two vehicles collided on U.S. 50 at the U.S. 281 junction in Stafford County, 2.5 miles south of St. John.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Pharaot Thavy, 30, was driving north on U.S. 281 at 3:38 p.m., and came to a stop as a Ford truck pulling a trailer approached from the east on U.S. 50. For unknown reason, Thavy then pulled out in front of the truck, driven by Mark T. Parr, 51, of Garden City, and the car was hit in the passenger side door.
Thavy’s residence was unknown at the time of the report. He and his passenger, listed as Thavy Seang Em, 50, of Temple, Texas, were both taken to the hospital with undetermined injuries. The driver was not wearing a seat belt; the passenger’s seat belt usage was uncertain.
Parr and his passenger were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
