RUSSELL — Six Russell residents were taken to the Russell County Hospital with possible injuries after a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 70. Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 1 p.m. Saturday in Russell County, 0.6 miles east of the Bunker Hill exit.
Amanda K. Hulett, 30, was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy as all of the occupants were eating lunch. The driver looked away from the road and the vehicle drifted onto the right shoulder. Hulett over-corrected her steering, causing the Envoy to cross both lanes of eastbound traffic and slide into the median, rolling one time.
Hulett was transported to the hospital, along with Wayne G. Brock, 25; Aerief C. Brock, 1; Adin C. Hulett, 6; Asher J. Hernandez, 4; and Alex T. Hernandez, 8. All were wearing safety restraints.
