The Great Bend Police Department arrested a man who was allegedly caught in the act of burglarizing a vehicle Sunday night.

A burglary in progress at 3112 Lakin Ave. was reported at 10:17 p.m. The victim reported a subject stealing items from her vehicle and running from the area. The reporting party’s family detained Patrick Moody-Standlee, 18, of Great Bend, who was booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond, on charges of burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Moody-Standlee had been booked into the jail last Tuesday on a charge of criminal damage to property, and released on Wednesday, when he was placed on probation.

Another vehicle burglary was reported at 4:35 p.m. Sunday. In that case, someone broke into a vehicle at 1114 Holland St. and stole the stereo.
