The Rice County Historical Society’s quarterly meeting will feature Marti McCartney who is a re-enactor at Wichita’s Old Cowtown Museum and the Kansas National Historic Sites of Fort Scott and Fort Larned.
Ms. McCartney will present “The Captain’s Lady Victorian Christmas Memories” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, at the Celebration Centre’s East Room. The program is a first person viewpoint of a Victorian woman after the Civil War. Mrs. McCartney will involve the audience in old-fashioned parlor games which were a typical part of a Victorian Christmas.
