Commission looks at COVID grant, courthouse HVAC

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes the repayment of Women, Infants and Children funds by the Health Department, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 grant, proposals to replace the heating and air conditioning system at the courthouse, and computer replacements.

Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:

• 10:15 a.m.  – continued discussion of risk management and insurance bids – Emergency Risk Manager Amy Miller, and representatives from Alliance, KCAMP and KWORCC. 

• 11 a.m. – capital improvement and equipment replacement plan updates – Finance Officer Matt Patzner.

• 11:15 a.m. – Microsoft 365 Licensing – Information Technology Director Derrick Hollingshead.

• 11:30 a.m. – procurement discussion – Grants and Compliance  Manager Sue Cooper. 

• 11:45 a.m. – purchase of lobby chairs – Health Director Karen Winkelman. 

• Noon – regular business discussion – Interim County Administrator Barry McManaman and County Clerk Donna Zimmerman. Topics to include board  appointments and special deputy coroner appointments.
