A Hudson man was injured Friday morning when the car he was driving was sideswiped by a semi-truck on K-19 in Stafford County.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 5:40 a.m., approximately 8.5 miles west of the K-19 junction with U.S. 281.
Johnny J. Long, 54, of Hudson was driving a 2012 Chevrolet. He was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries.
The 2014 Kenworth truck was driven by Toby Jon Butcher, 53, of Lubbock, Texas, who was not injured. The semi was eastbound on K-19 when it drifted into the westbound lane and sideswiped the car before entering the north ditch, striking a power pole and then entering a field where it caught fire. The Chevrolet came to rest on the north shoulder facing northeast.
Both men were wearing safety restraints, the KHP reports. Both vehicles were removed.
