KOC to hold poker tournament

HOISINGTON — Everyone 21 and over is invited to play in a Texas Hold’Em Poker tournament to raise funds for area charities.  The tournament will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Hoisington Knights of Columbus Hall, 114 North Main.  

KOC to hold gun drawing

ELLINWOOD — The Knights of Columbus Council 1187 will hold a drawing for 20 guns. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Each ticket has a 1 in 15 chance of winning a gun.
Suggested donation is $50 per ticket. Entrants must be at least 21 years old and eligible to purchase a firearm.
Each ticket only has a chance of winning one gun.  Winning tickets will not be returned into the drawing for additional guns.

2nd Annual  Food Drive Fundraiser to be held

ELLINWOOD — At the Ellinwood Grade School Gym on Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., a fund raiser will be held for the Ellinwood Food Bank.  Bring food bank items to purchase a bracelet for unlimited jumping or get tickets for a single jump turn. Parents must be present with children under age 13.
For unlimited jumping bring five of the following items: laundry soap, flour, sugar, peanut butter, cooking oil, cereal, canned fruit, jelly, toilet paper, facial tissue or cake mix,  or one item per single jump ticket for  Walk on the Moon inflatables.

Fall City-Wide Garage Sale set

ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood Fall City-Wide Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to noon. Registration for the sale will begin on Oct. 1. Claflin will also be hosting a city wide garage sale the same day along with their pancake feed at the fire station.
