People looking for a job and those who just want to make connections with workplace professionals can meet area employers during JobFest 2011.

The free event will take place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Best Western Courtyard, 2920 10th St.

JobFest 2011 will be Great Bend’s fifth annual concerted job fair as employers gather to provide information about jobs available in Central Kansas. Over 20 local businesses will be in attendance to provide job seekers with information about open full-time and part-time positions. They will also have information about training opportunities and continuing education.

People can bring their resumes, or assistance will be available for those who need an updated resume.

There will be free refreshments, and those who attend can enter for a chance to win a free laptop computer.

Sponsors for the event are the City of Great Bend, CPI Qualified Plan Consultants, Best Western Angus Inn, Doonan Trailer Corp., Farm Bureau Insurance and Barton County.
