Bucks for buckles
Darlene Demel rewards a driver for all occupants wearing their seat belts, Monday morning in front of Roosevelt Elementary School in Hoisington. From Aug. 28 through Sept. 10, local volunteers will be handing out $1 bills to drivers who have all occupants buckled up securely in their vehicle. Those riding unrestrained will receive educational materials about the effectiveness of seat belts and child safety seats in saving lives and reducing injuries. Bucks for Buckles is sponsored by Safe Kids Kansas, State Farm and the Kansas Department of Transportation.
