Claflin fire report for July and August

CLAFLIN —In the last two months Claflin personnel were dispatched for: four patient assist calls, a traumatic fall injury, a possible stroke, a pedestrian versus vehicle accident, a multiple injury vehicle versus vehicle accident, a motorcycle accident, a syncope episode, a cardiac arrest, a dehydration call, four sick patients, a patient with other medical problems, eight out-of-town transfers, and one football standby.
 In the last two months Claflin Fire Crews responded to:  assist EMS crews on two medical emergencies, the vehicle wreck, one motorcycle wreck, and the pedestrian versus vehicle accident.  Four tree fires from lightning, hay bales fire from lightning, a stubble field fire, and two mutual aid calls with Ellinwood Fire – a grass fire and a hay shed fire.
In other news, Claflin Fire and EMS personnel met twice in July and twice in August to clean, maintain, and train with equipment and vehicles.  Training sessions included Pipeline Safety, Incident Management, Mayday Procedures, Advanced Skills Review – IV, IO, and Capnography.
At the Aug.1 meeting, members inspected, setup, and checked out on the new 2012 Ford Brush Truck from Blanchat Manufacturing that was delivered at the end of July.  The truck is a four wheel drive quick attack brush unit with a 325 gallon tank.
