Colson named to CBH position

HOISINGTON — Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington has named, Curt Colson, as its new president and chief executive officer. A come-and-go welcome reception will be held on Feb. 16 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Turnbull Safe Room. All are invited to come and meet Colson.

Colson comes to Clara Barton from Olathe where he served as senior practice administrator of the University of Kansas Physician Inc. at Kansas University Medical Center. Colson has 13 years of management experience in healthcare administration and eleven years of multiple-site management experience.

Prior to Colson’s employment with UKPI, he worked in Satanta, serving Satanta District Hospital and Long Term Care Unit as CEO for six years. Satanta District Hospital is a 13-bed Critical Access Hospital with attached 44-bed long term care unit, two rural health clinics and County Public Health Department.

From 2009-10, Colson served as chair of the Kansas Hospital Association’s Southwest District and Chair of the Critical Access Hospital Network Council. In addition, Colson has served on KHA Emergency Preparedness Tech. Advisory Group, Governance Committee, and Council on Health Delivery. Colson is a board member of the Pioneer Health Network.

Colson received a B.A. in Business Management from East Central University in Ada, Okla. and is certified in National Incident Management System.

Colson and his wife Liana have two children Seth, age 11 and Samantha age 7. Colson will begin as CEO on Feb. 14.
