ELLINWOOD — The Ellinwood City Council, in its regular monthly meeting, heard an update on the cattle drive from Lloyd Kurtz.
He has been to see the cattle, and everything is lined up for the celebration Saturday. Miss Rodeo Kansas will be here. The cattle will bunch at t he highway to cross. In case of rain, the Cowboy Rodeo will be moved to Lyons.
In other business, the city took bids on a new drive up window. The old one no longer works correctly. The council voted to accepted a bid for $5,815 which includes some structural modifications.
The council heard a report on the home at 116 East 1st. The homeowners are nearly done with the roof and replacement windows have been ordered.
A Proclamation was signed regarding childhood cancer awareness.
The council discussed a sidewalk improvement program for improvements to dilapidated sidewalks.
In final business, the council:
•Adopted the 2011 Uniform Public Offense Code.
•Appointed Robert Peter and Kim Schwartz as alternaate as delegates to the League of Kansas Municipalities.
•Approved the Appropriations Ordinance.
