BUSHTON — Central Plains Middle School would like to recognize Rebecca Stratmann and Lee Letourneau as the February Students of the Month.
Rebecca is the daughter of Chad and Rachelle Stratmann and is in the sixth grade.  She has a brother Evan who is a third grader.
Rebecca participates in vocal and plays the flute in band.  Her favorite class in school is science.  She stated, “I like science because of the fun experiments and activities we do in class.”  When asked what she likes best about school, she replied, “Seeing my friends.”
Mrs. Clark, resource room Para-educator, stated, “When I see Rebecca in class she stays on task when working on an assignment.  She also seems to realize she will be held accountable for her own actions.  When anyone else in class seems to struggle with an assignment, and she completes hers, if permitted, she will try to assist any of her classmates in better understanding it. From what I have observed, Rebecca is polite and respectful to her classmates and our CPMS staff, which says a lot about her character.  I always appreciate meeting her in the hallway because I know I will receive a pleasant “hello” and a sweet smile!”
Lee is the son of Troy and Bridget Letourneau and is an eighth grader at Central Plains Middle School.  Lee has three brothers, Tyson, Kavet and Wyatt and one sister, Shelby.
Lee participated in football and basketball and plans to run track in the spring.  His favorite subject in school is PE.  What Lee likes best about school is, “Being involved in the extracurricular activities, especially sports.”
Mrs. Clark commented, Mrs. Clark stated, “ Lee demonstrates maturity this year with taking responsibility for his school-work.  When he has an assignment, he works at it to complete it on time, without complaining and procrastinating.  He appears to realize he will be held accountable for his own actions.  Lee displays compassion for his fellow classmates and respect for our staff here at CPMS.  When he is asked to do something by a teacher, he complies, with the best of his ability.  One last thing...Lee (and many others here at our school) has a smile that is contagious!  When he smiles, you just have to smile back!”
Congratulations, Rebecca and Lee, for being selected as the CPMS Students of the Month.
