EDH holds regular meeting

ELLINWOOD — At the regular Ellinwood District Hospital board meeting, the board discussed the retirement party for Joyce Schulte on Oct. 19 and the 60th anniversary of the hospital.
The new administrator is John Hughes, director of radiology at Dodge City. He starts Tuesday.
The board discussed the lease agreement with Great Plains and plans to continue.
The Fall Auxiliary Lunch will be Oct. 30.
There are still community tax credits available for sale with the deadline to purchase of Dec. 31 of this year.
New administrator
John Hughes is a native of Weaverville, N.C. He has been the director of Radiology at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, Kansas. He spent seven years at Western Plains where he was responsible for ultrasound, mammography, computed radiography (CT) and diagnostic radiology services.  
Hughes received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management from the University of Ottawa, Overland Park campus. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Academy of Health Science, Fort Sam Houston Texas, with a diploma in radiology. In addition, Hughes is a registered technologist in radiography and computer tomography.
When he is not spending time with his three children, Johanna, Patrick and Samantha, who reside in Kansas City, he enjoys pheasant hunting, fishing and softball.
