ELLINWOOD — At its annual celebration last Saturday, the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce members came together to review the year and enjoy snacks and hor d’ouerves.
Chamber Director Nancy Baird spoke of the events held by the chamber. "First we had the Ladies Night Out, then the City Garage Sale, After Harvest Festival, 1st Cox Cattle Drive, and the Fall Garage Sale." She thanked volunteers for making them a success.
Baird also reported using social media and holding 35 coffees or After Hours. Chamber Gift Certificates for over $4,000 were purchased.
The chamber will participate in the June Jaunt on June 1-3. Baird also said that it is the 140th anniversary for Ellinwood.
New board members were announced. They are Jacque Isern, Lloyd Kurtz and Casey Roberts, who is new to the board.
Mayor Frank Koelsch also spoke. He said that the cattle drive was a huge success and Ellinwood had a bigger turnout than some other towns.
He especially thanked Lloyd Kurtz for his work on the cattle drive. Kurtz said that he had a lot of help.
