HOISINGTON — A fire occurred at 9:07 a.m. on Tuesday at 510 E. 3rd St. in Hoisington.
“A fire started in the utility room and spread through the wall into the attic,” said Hoisington Fire Chief Jim Sekavec.
No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.
The utility room has fire damage and the remainder of the house has heavy smoke damage. Sekavec estimates the damage at $50,000.
A cause was not determined. The house is not habitable.
Ten fire fighters and three fire trucks responded. The fire department was at the site until 11 a.m.
