The Clara Barton Hospital Foundation is currently seeking applicants for their 2014 healthcare career scholarships.  Each year the Foundation desires to present several individuals with scholarships. Scholarship amount varies with the merits of the application and funds available from the endowments. The four scholarships to be awarded are: Jonathan Witt Scholarship, Sadie Stalcup Scholarship, Verda Lane Nursing Scholarship and Dr. Robert Moore Scholarship. Application deadline for all scholarships is April 1, 2014.
The Jonathan Witt Scholarship has been continually awarded by CBHF and the Clara Barton Hospital Auxiliary since the 1950s. The scholarship was renamed in 2004 in memory of Jonathan Witt, son of Dr. Dan and Sandra Witt.
The Sadie Stalcup Scholarship was established in honor of Sadie Stalcup, a long-time nurse at Clara Barton Hospital.
Both the Jonathon Witt and Sadie Stalcup scholarships are limited to applicants accepted into, currently enrolled in, or planning to pursue a health care professional curriculum. Applicants must be a current resident or a high school graduate in the Clara Barton service area.
The Verda Lane Nursing Scholarship was established at the request of her family to assist students in their academic pursuit to become an RN or LPN. Applicants must be admitted to a nursing program and have a current GPA of 3.0 or better. The scholarship will not fund pre-nursing students.
Established by his family in honor of his dedicated service to the patients of Clara Barton Hospital, the Dr. Robert Moore Scholarship assists employees of Clara Barton with continuing their education. Only current employees are eligible and if interested, can call the Foundation office to learn more about this scholarship.
